(I'm WAY overdue for a dream vacation in Hawaii...)I'm told the phone companies can't (won't) stop these calls because they are governed by the public utilities commission which requires them to put through ALL calls. (What I think of that nonsense is unprintable.) When I prevail, AND I WILL, you'll see me on the 6 o'clock news.
Entertaining but new wrinkles: 1) Caller ID reads "BLOCKED CALL". 2) A local number appears but there is no answer when I return the call to check if real ("spoofing"). 3) Caller ID shows area code 525. THAT IS FROM MEXICO CITY - Frequently used by crooks.Steve Ostrow says that a successful lawsuit depends upon having obtained the Name of the Company and the Phone Number. My phone company has NO suggestions. Guess we're just SOL for now.
