He was so drunk she was sure he would not remember what they had done. But although neither of them mentioned it, neither had forgotten a memory that apparently meant more to them than they would admit.As Remy starts to remember parts of that night of the funeral and what Celia was willing to do to comfort him, he wants to explore their feelings for each other. He had been attracted way before the funeral but were too young to act on it. However, Celia keeps pushing him away until he can answer her one question – does he want her for more than a one-night stand? She can’t be that for him now. It has to be for real. Will he finally realize how deep his feelings go? How they always understood each other when no one else could? If they can’t get a solid, strong relationship to hold onto, they may not be able to survive the arrival of Remy’s cheating ex who is ready to tear his life apart to get him back!This was a well-written book that led the reader through this emotional story line. The author wisely helps the reader to realize how the family was so important to Celia, taking her in after her parents died. Even her own mother and Remy’s mother recognized that the two of them were meant for each other, with Remy protective of her for her entire life. Fear of losing that close family held Celia back. Would she risk it and allow herself to love him openly? Was he ready to accept that she was the one he had wanted from the start? Hang on for an emotional ride!
Celia and Remy have always shared a connection. Growing up Remy was always around, keeping an eye on Celia and wanting to protect her. A tragedy brings them together for a night Celia will never forget, unfortunately Remy can't remember it. Moving on and going to college, Celia always thought back to that night. Now that she's home from college a night out with her best friend sounds good. She hasn't seen Remy in a long time and is surprised when she runs into him again. Old feelings start to return, but Celia pushes them away. Nothing could ever happen between them, right? Remy was like a brother growing up and if things didn't work out, it would hurt Celia if she lost the only people she called family. When Remy confronts Celia with a faint memory of that night years ago, how will things ever be the same? What will the rest of the family say when they learn the truth?I loved this story! If you like best friend romances, you will enjoy this book. The characters are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.
Remy and Celia's story had me from the start I read it all in one night . Remy and Celia had grown up together , Brinley was Celias's best friend and Remy was Brinley's older brother. The love that comes from their story is amazing.
Just ok, probably wouldn’t recommend
I don't like to leave a bad review but I seriously don't know how this got so many high stars. I thought this would be a short, sweet read. There were so many inconsistencies in the story and timeline errors, she's 18 in the memory and it's been three years and now she's 23??? The "hero" claims he wants to persue something with the girl but then goes out mere hours later and sleeps with someone else!! I skipped half and still couldn't finish it.
